We passed! The cruiser is good to go, in great shape, legal, and all the rest. It feels like a lot of hard work has finally paid off and like we actually made it through the whole importing process without any huge obstacles, since the few things the inspector has commented on were easy to fix.
However, it’s not over just yet – apparently when importing a British car the inspector doesn’t automatically get our new license number when passing the car, but has to fax the UK and ask them to process it. So although the cruiser passed both the registration inspection and the first normal inspection today, the inspector can’t officially say we have passed the latter yet. First we wait a few days until we get our license number, then he’ll give us a call and we have to drive over to the inspection hall again, just so the inspector can see that no changes has been made to the car – THEN he can pass it on the paper…
Soon after that we will get Swedish number plates!
