Are you really going through Syria?!
We don’t know yet. And yes, we do know what’s going on there and have heard about people travelling through and ending up in prison and so on. I wish we could just give Bashar al-Assad a call and tell him to stop the violence RIGHT NOW. I guess we could. It probably wouldn’t increase our chances of being let into the country though. No, but seriously, we try to keep a close eye on what’s happening not only in Syria but in other countries with recent turmoil. Sudan and South Sudan is another one of those, where anything can happen. So all we can do pretty much is follow the progress and see what it’s like closer to our planned departure date.
How are you going to cope with living so closely together for six months?
A lot of people ask us this. First of all, I think it’s a kind of funny thing to ask – we are after all together and if you had to be stuck with someone for six months, it’s good if it’s your partner, right? It could be worse. Imagine being stuck with Borat for six months. But yeah okay, we all want to ask our partners to go to hell at times I guess. Which will be tricky when you’re stuck in a car. There will be very few doors to slam, rooms to hide in and friends to call when we’re driving each other crazy. But the truth is, we already live like that. For the past few years we haven’t had a life with loads of friends or hobbies, we mostly hang out with each other all the time, in our little apartment. So the way we see it, getting in that car together for the trip is not a bad thing – it will probably in many ways be just like the life we live now, except with exciting things happening everyday.
Where are you going to settle down in Africa and what are you going to do down there?
Still don’t know, sorry.
